Due to this fun hobby, I enjoy not just making syrup but meeting syrupmakers as they do their work.  I have met more Missouri syrupmakers than anyone in my travels to some hidden corners of the State, and they’re some of the nicest folks!   I have spoken about the hobby to various groups in our State, and I have a 1 hour Powerpoint presentation about Missouri syrupmaking that would be of interest to the public, and especially to those interested in getting involved.  If you have interest in such a presentation, please reach me through the Contacts page of this website to see if we can work out a mutually acceptable schedule and location.  I prefer to make presentations in the Fall, to give folks some time to get ready for sap flow, which typically begins in January.  At the presentations, I give a away a few tree tapping kits with basic instructions so that folks give it a try.
